Tesla drivers can now fast-charge at Fastned
Fastned adds Tesla adaptors to all 50 stations
Amsterdam 2 maart 2016. Fastned, that is building a pan-European network of fast charging stations where all electric cars can charge, will add Tesla adaptors at all of its 50 stations in the Netherlands within the next month. The adaptors allow Tesla drivers to quickly recharge their car and continue their journey. The 50 Fastned locations are a big step up from the current 7 Tesla superchargers in the Netherlands. With these new locations Tesla drivers no longer have to make detours to fast-charge their car.
At the moment there are almost 5000 Tesla cars in the Netherlands, and this number is growing rapidly. With the Tesla adaptors at all Fastned stations, Tesla drivers can now charge super fast and easy in all of the Netherlands. Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned: “Before the end of March Tesla drivers will have 50 extra fast charging stations in the Netherlands. They don’t have to make detours to fast-charge, thus saving time and energy.”
Vincent Everts, Tesla driver and board member of the Dutch Club for Electric Drivers (VER): “This is a great initiative by Fastned, which shows impressive growth with its current 50 fast charging stations. With this CHAdeMO adaptor I can now recharge everywhere in The Netherlands up to 250 km/hour. When your battery is low you know that there will always be a station closeby.”

Fastned is a charging company that is building a European network of fast charging stations where fully electric vehicles can charge as fast as possible. The stations are located at high traffic locations along highways and in cities, where electric cars charge in an average of about 20 minutes. This will give drivers of fully electric vehicles the freedom to drive across Europe. As of today, Fastned has over 95 stations operational in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom, and is working on expanding its fast charging network to the rest of Europe. Fastned is currently simultaneously building fast charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom, and preparing for building its first stations in other countries, with a focus on Belgium, Switzerland and France.
